a few sentences
Amazing how sorting clothes becomes a never-ending task! That's what I'm doing these days as we prepare to leave the States and travel back (via Scotland) to our home in Zambia. It's challenging thinking ahead and trying to figure out what I will need for the next year for my two younguns. What size will they be the next time they need cold weather clothing? And things like that. A never-ending job, but sometimes more intense than others. Our room is FULL of piles of laundry. I think my 18-month-old just grew 2 inches overnight. Literally. Suddenly this afternoon he was popping out of his onesies which he wore without difficulty yesterday. And tonight at bedtime, he is suddenly bursting out of the very same pajamas which he's been wearing for the last few weeks! Speaking of growing, I think Ketzia has reached 9lbs. Any day now she's going to be bursting out of her newborn diapers. She is filling her clothes out very well these days. I'm gratified that even though she keeps me up w-a-y past my bedtime, she at least has been falling asleep almost precisely on the exact stroke of 11pm every. single. night.! Unfortunately, Elijah's up at the crack of 7am and both of them are up during the night, so sleep still feels short-changed around here. Our room isn't just filled with piles of clothes. It's filled with piles of other necessities and treats we'll be hauling to our home in Eastern Province. Like chocolate chips... so that I can make chocolate chip cookies a few times in the next year. And alphabet magnets for Elijah. And medicines. And quart-sized Ziploc bags. And so on. And I have something really special arriving in the mail tomorrow: a Kindle Touch! This is David's present to me. I don't know why. Maybe he just loves me? :-) If any of you have suggestions or recommendations of what I should download onto my Kindle, let me know! Free is best... It shouldn't cost more than $.99 because I'm cheap like that! ;-) We decided a Kindle would be a really good idea to minimize the number of books we have to haul internationally. I still buy and take medical books with me, because I need a good hands-on medical library for immediate reference where we live. And having shared these brief notes with you, now I'm calling it a night...
